Great discussion of windmill physics. It'd be interesting to know how well models correlate with practice. In other words, 3 ways to optimize windmills could be: 1) model countless variations; 2) use math to predict which should be the best, or 3) create real-world physical models. Are 1 and 2 good enough that we can eliminate the 3rd option yet? I see some fun science fair projects in the works!

Just one thing: I'm all for renewable energy, but apparently the modern windmill materials need to be so strong, that they are incredibly hard to recycle, so we are soon to have vast windmill graveyards 😔
