NEW SHOW!

You've probably already seen this over on youtube, but we've got a pilot for a new show! This video is a preview/trailer for the pilot, and you can watch the whole pilot at https://vrv.co/paradigms .

I'm VERY curious to hear what everyone thinks – do you like the story? The style? The format? If you like it, please share it, because the more people who watch it the more likely we are for a full season to be funded.

Unfortunately, vrv is not currently releasing the pilot outside of the US, so I apologize to each and every international viewer, of which there are a lot: you make up over 50% of the MinutePhysics audience! We found out too late into this process that it was a US-only release of the pilot, and weren't able to change anything. The one possibility is that if you're savvy with a VPN that should allow you to watch.

Needless to say, because this is an announcement video it's not going to be charged to Patrons. More special relativity videos should be out soon!

As always, thanks for your support,

Henry

Thanks for thinking about us outside the US. Looking forward to being able to wach it.

Please make this available in the UK!

In the top left corner of the post it says "Patrons only"... so I had to assume, that it is a paid post. Even more, because your statement that it is not, was in the lower part of the description, that is automatically hidden. My mistake, thank you for clarifying that. — Procrastination is okay, to a certain extent. But you'll understand, that always posting late can leave the impression of making videos for the monetary support instead of making videos for fun & education; which is what I liked about your videos in the first place, even the "old" 60 s ones. :D PS: Just to re-assure you: I'm not a person who easily gives up on something or someone.

I appreciate your support, and your questions are valid ones! However, I think you missed that this is not a patreon supported post (so you're not paying for this one!). Also, the reason so many videos come out right before the end of the month is actually because I'm a procrastinator and most sponsors of videos have end-of-month deadlines (like, I can post the sponsorship on a video any time in March... and suddenly, it's the last week of March and I still have that sponsorship to do). Does that help explain?

As far as the brain interpreting eye sight. It is common during a fever for people to see people walking on the roof. So the brain does directly turn people upside right when your looking at them. Why does the mind fill in the blanks? Well I have come to see it as the brain's heuristics, here is a map of cognitive bias that all minds engage in every single day to turn the world upside right. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/18/Cognitive_Bias_Codex_-_180%2B_biases%2C_designed_by_John_Manoogian_III_%28jm3%29.jpg

meeeeh... so I'm supporting for a trailer for something I can't watch outside the US (which is where I am). It also appeared to me, that Minute Physics videos come out like the last day of the month, just not to miss all those one-time-per-month supporters. I'm not sure, whether this Patreon model is really good for Minute Physics or at least in the sens of the patrons.

Great video. Awful website.

TPRJones

Fantastic video! But why VRV? If you want to charge for the videos, I'd rather be charged via Patreon or Youtube.

Henry, this is an important series - I think about it as effective science writing, of which we need much much more, to help bridge the gap between scientists and the public. So carry on, and we're behind you!

Great. Thanks! It's always nice to have a shorter link. The show was wonderful! I hope that it works out to have many more of them.
