Hey there I am Nick I am new on Patreon I start first a Graphic design channel and I am now moving to Patreon my question is : if I can make a logo and a banner for you ?

Thank you :) I'm skeptical of diversity tactics, but diversity in STEM fields would be a wonderful thing. I don't remember an SGU "forgotten hero of science" who was male. Skepticism isn't cynicism, and we all need more skepticism. We need reasoned discussions & debates supported by logic and evidence, not hyperbole and ad hominem and tribalism supported by caps lock. If the latter was why you killed the YouTube comments, clearly we need diversity as badly as we need skepticism.

Since comments were quite rightly nixed on YouTube, I just wanted to say that this is a concise and thoughtful explanation of Simpson's Paradox and the role of selection in statistics, with a great real-world example of how careful analysis can help us understand complex systems. I re-up'ed my Patreon subscription because of it.

Here's a good article with evidenced-based references: <a href="https://www.wired.com/story/why-men-dont-believe-the-data-on-gender-bias-in-science/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.wired.com/story/why-men-dont-believe-the-data-on-gender-bias-in-science/</a>

I'm a little confused. Maybe I need to watch a few more times, but it sounds like this implies women and men go into fields because they're told to, not because they're interested. Is there evidence of that? (this is usually the part where I say "please do not use the phrase 'we all know,' 'the nerve of this guy', or 'I see, another idiot' as supporting arguments or evidence" but I assume that won't be nessessary here)
