Warships in Space?

Perhaps some of you have by now seen the new Real Engineering video about warship metal (called "low background steel") being used in space – anyway, if you're not familiar with Real Engineering, Brian makes great videos.
BUT what I wanted to share is a little more of the background story, since Brian mentions in his videos that I chatted with him at VidCon about this. But that gives me too much credit.
What actually happened was that, earlier at VidCon, a nice guy named Luke who's studying aerospace (& makes some youtube videos occasionally) came up to me and started telling me about his research on retrieving old satellites from earth orbit – they're valuable both because of the materials they're made out of and also because cleaning up space junk has its own value. Anyway, he also happened to mention that one of the valuable materials you can retrieve from some of these satellites is low background steel. I thought this was all super cool, so I mentioned it to Brian, who clearly thought it was cool enough he ran away and made a video about it!
Anyway, just wanted to share that fun little background info with you all. Thanks for your support.
