It’s funny, when we were shooting this video just a few days ago, our camera operator Andy (who is just the sweetest fella in all the world) was commenting on the lyrics of this song. He had a story about a beautiful old house he was filming in that was built in the early 1900’s, and on the outside of it was a plaque which simple stated “The Bones Are Good”. Poignant.
We could have gone a lot of different directions with this song, but we really felt that we wanted to reach out and involve one of our favorite voices (and people) in the production of this piece. Enter Emoni Wilkins.
Those of you that don’t know Emoni, we were introduced on the Sing-Off and became fast friends and travel buddies for the first ever sing-off tour. We’ve since collaborated on numerous videos, the latest of which being, “Just Sing”, and now she’s lending her incredible talent to us again on “The Bones”. If you feel like reaching out to her on instagram (@emonilovesmusic) and saying “HI”, I’m sure she’d appreciate it.
With the addition of Emoni’s vocals to the track, what started out as a “Hey, I kinda like this song, I wonder what we’d sound like singing it?” turned into a “I HAVE CHILLS EVERY TIME I LISTEN TO THIS TRACK GIVE ME MOAR!”
Simply to say, we’re pleasantly pleased with how well this one turned out and we hope that you enjoy it too.
