Jasper is in the process of reporting a story about the death of Danny Chen, a Chinese-American soldier whose death by suicide in Afghanistan became a flashpoint in the New York Chinese community. Jasper grew up in the same community and returned after spending four years in the Army.
Nate and Jasper speak about veteran identity, what it's like being a Chinese-American veteran in New York City, how veterans (and other groups) relate personal experiences by writing, and why identity politics is actually just politics.

I agree with consolidating the free content along with the secret, ultra-premium stuff in the Patreon feed, unless there's hidden headaches on the production or hosting side. (Also I really like the Pocket Casts app. It isn't free, but it IS cheap, and there's no ads. Supports Patreon RSS links too)

For whatever reason my browser doesn't work with Stitcher Radio and so I can't listen to the normal episodes. And then SoundCloud has it's own issues, like for whatever reason it will let me download "Shocking News: Jim Mattis wasn't Smedley Butler", but it won't let me download "Don't play defense with Xenophobes". Great podcast though! I wouldn't bother you if I didn't want to listen. :D
