Is It Fascist? 'The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension' (1984)
Added 2018-12-17 00:01:01 +0000 UTCIn this month's installment of Is It Fascist?, Nate and Francis review the 1984 cult classic 'The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension' and discuss its inscrutable plot, strangely fleshy special effects, standout cast, and general insane weirdness.
We asked for a Christmas movie to review and the fans asked for this one. It's not a Christmas movie at all, but we did it regardless.

Love this. Yes, please do The Matrix. The movie I saw dozens of times at age 12 is Phantom of the Paradise. It still bangs. Swan is a total fascist oligarch but movie itself isn't fascist. Brings up good stuff like police corruption, prison labour, kleptocracy, bad pop music, good pop music, etc.
