Francis highlights the differences between the movie and the book, Adrian highlights the fact that both Rambo and all of the residents of the town are probably Trump voters, and Nate highlights the fact that it's a strange cultural moment when a movie makes you root for the guy who beats up all the cops. Something that always stuck with me from First Blood was when he told Troutman, “you just don’t shut it off.” I always think of it in a way that you guys said with him being a killing machine we made. This is how he was taught to respond when confronted with hostility which when he was a soldier was not only encouraged but venerated. Because he was good a that he was given opportunities, training, “Back there I could fly a gunship, I could drive a tank, I was in charge of million dollar equipment.”
