That's because all Gen 1 ghost types are part poison. Ghost has never had a defensive buff against psychic, so there's nothing to negate the super effective psychic vs poison.

The developers still haven't corrected Ghost-types being weak to psychic in the Gen 1 remake Let's Go. I'm replaying Let's Go Pikachu and one-shotting every Ghost Pokemon with Kababra

Yeah, Ghost is actually suppose to be strong against Psychic types but between Ghost-type moves being bugged in Gen 1 and the only Ghost-type pokemon in Gen 1 having a weakness to Psychic-type damage it probably wasn't until Gen 3 or 4 that players realized that Ghost typing by itself isn't weak to Psychic-type damage (especially with Misdreavus being so underused in Gen 2 that a lot of players thought it was introduced in Gen 3). Also to be fair the Gen 2 TM list is about 60% garbage (compared to roughly 25%-30% in Gen 1) but ultimately Mr. Mime knowing Psywave is so that Girafarig is the one to introduce Future Sight, even though the move has very limited use in the games. You gave the episode a lot of minum but the episode does require a lot of characters being really stupid so I can't fault you on that.

Thanks. I've fixed the direct link now.

Even if it has precedence, I don't think psychic makes sense being reflected by mirrors. In this episode I paid close attention to when they referred to GHOST Pokemon being weak to Psychic or specifically Gastly's line. When it was the latter, like when Cherry talked about her Girafarig being able to beat one, that wasn't a Minun. But when they said or implied that psychic was strong against ghost (something that just isn't true), that got a Minun. As for Mr Mime, that's possible, but very unlikely. We've never seen Johto at the time of Gen 1, but given the differences in local typing, it's unlikely they used Gen 1 TM lists. Even if they did, it comes down to Occam's Razor; is it more likely that the TM list used to be accurate in Johto and/or the trainer used to live in Kanto, or is it more likely that the writers made a silly mistake in an episode already teeming with very silly mistakes. I hope this goes some way to explaining my logic behind these Minun.

Have you followed the PokeSins Viewing Guide? https://youtu.be/_C-eMjqF_lc

Yeah I’m having the same problem too

I do think there are a good few minun that shouldn't have happened in this one. In the Drowzee and Hypno episode they established that psychic powers can be reflected by mirrors. 3 out of 4 ghost pokemon are also poison types so that is the clear reason they're using psychic types. Mr. Mime could definitely could have been taught psywave by that fisherman if he had it longer than the Gold/Silver anime had been ongoing!

Hey I’ve purchased a $10 Patreon but it tells me that I don’t have access to the episodes? Am I just being impatient or is there something wrong?:)

Link is to Ep38. I always loved Girafarig in Gen 2. It's a glass cannon but its typing makes it useful as a Physical and a Special attacker. It also looks better than its Gen 9 evolution.
