Wesley wrote about a little-known agreement between certain host-nation countries in Africa and the US military whereby US military units can take command of host-nation units and lead them into combat, rather than the “advise and assist” or “training and mentoring” role described in public. He’s a prolific reporter, great writer, and dogged journalist, and it’s great to have him on the show!
