Tin Can is a realistic simulation of trying to keep a space escape pod working long enough to be rescued. Diagnose faults, replace parts, panic, die, repeat.

It does seem odd the sandbox mode doesn't have a way for random events though maybe there is a problem in the programming that causes events to start overlapping (though you'd think it wouldn't be difficult to require a minimum time between events able to spawn). I guess really the question is whether each event has specific solutions/causes specific problems (like the electrical storm/nebula knocking out power) or if there is some randomness to the damage.
