Venom Bearer: Ranger Archetype [The Homebrewery]

Venom Bearers use natural ingredients to create poisons for a variety of  uses.

At The Homebrewery, I explain, evaluate, and demonstrate 5e Dungeons  & Dragons homebrewed content; mostly stuff I've written myself.

Feedback and advice is greatly appreciated, but kindly keep it polite. Toxicity will (ironically) not be tolerated.

Comments

They did add some optional items which does offer some useful variation to most classes. I haven't looked hard at some of the newer subclasses for Ranger to see how they measure but a poison subclass would fit well to Ranger.

From what I understand, the changes to classes and subclasses are optional.

Went back to the original versions is what I mean.

I'm sorry, but what do you mean by 'reverted'?

Geran 'Gar1onriva'

Both of the original subclasses- Hunter and Beast Master. Hunter had only a slight change but Beast Master was given a nice revision that made an animal companion quite useful for battle. It might have been reverted just because the further addition of subclasses no longer meant that Hunter was the obvious "best" Ranger Conclave.

Cohasset Alicorn

Which ones did they revert?

Geran 'Gar1onriva'

Just as I mentioned on Youtube Ranger is probably the class that most needs more variety. They've tried to officially improve the class a couple years ago but then it looks like they reverted some of the changed subclasses.
