D Drive Failure - PokeSins Problem

I posted last week about how my D Drive failed and took a load of stuff with it; it was my main storage drive, after all.
I have now sent the drive to be recovered by professionals and should hopefully hear back tomorrow or the day after IF it can be recovered at all. If it can then I'll wait to receive the files and continue as normal. If it can't, I'll redo the work that was lost.
I found out today that there has been an unexpected thing that was lost.
The software I use to edit PokeSins is no longer working.
I use one program (Premiere Elements) to edit my gameplay videos and another (MoviePlus) to edit PokeSins. They have different strengths and I found PokeSins almost impossible to edit on Premiere. It comes down to the techniques I use that I won't be going into here. Just believe me that MoviePlus is MUCH better at it.
MoviePlus was installed on my D Drive. When I wiped my C Drive a couple of weeks ago I still had the vast majority of the MoviePlus files. With the D Drive problems, I have none of them. I reinstalled it. It no longer works. Basically MoviePlus is a very old program and must have 'unlock codes' to prove I bought it. Serif, however, no longer provide said codes. Without them I cannot use the program.
There are two things that can happen here:
1. I recover my D Drive, copy over the files and find it is now unlocked. Continue as normal. Happy Geran.
2. I can't recover my D Drive, or the recovered files don't unlock the program. I need to find a new program. Unhappy Geran.
You see the bind I'm in, I trust. An episode is due out on Friday and there is a strong possibility that I will not have any way to actually make one by then.
I am currently searching for replacement software, just on the off-chance that it's option 2. I may find something and in that case I'll do my damn best to get an episode out on Friday. If I can't, however, then I will release an episode as soon as I possibly can.
I am incredibly frustrated that my job has been disrupted for weeks. I was all excited to get back to work and it feels like I can't do it for more than a day or two before another thing goes wrong, breaks or vanishes.
I am very sorry that this is happening and that I can't release PokeSins with the regularity I promised. I'm doing everything I can. I really appreciate your ongoing support and I ask that you bear with me just a little longer.
Thanks for your patience and for reading this.

Edit: I've heard back from the professionals. An internal component of the drive has been damaged and they're unable to recover any data. They named a specialist company that MAY be able to, but they WILL be expensive...and they may not even be able to recover; they charge just to try.
This is likely the end of the road for that. I can't recover my files without shelling out way too much money. I'm gonna keep trying to get hold of a working set of MoviePlus files, and I'm exploring new editing software as a replacement.
I hope to find a solution soon, but let it be known that I am rather devastated by this.

Yes. Of course. I expect to have an episode out within a week. I just can't guarantee it'll be Friday.

2019-09-18 11:14:10 +0000 UTCIt won't affect other series much. New gaming stuff is unaffected because that's all edited on Premiere Elements. I will need to re-edit The Forest and rerecord PK Colosseum, though. Top 5s, G-Logs and Anime Style (my other MoviePlus-edited series) are all relatively simple compared to the complicated beast of editing that is PokeSins. I can probably edit them on Premiere without much hassle. PokeSins, however, uses much more complicated techniques that I cannot do on Premiere.

2019-09-17 18:24:43 +0000 UTCI don't even know what to say about this, but it's a shame to hear how things have gone. How is this going to affect your other series?

2019-09-17 18:08:32 +0000 UTCI have the product key. I need a special 'unlock code' that you have to contact Serif support to get. They made a post saying they would no longer respond to support tickets or code requests for MoviePlus. I will also keep trying to find a copy of the codes or something, though.

2019-09-17 16:27:07 +0000 UTCSerif seems to have a service for recovering product keys, via email. Try searching the terms "serif legacy product keys" (I don't know if I can post urls here). With that said, I second Seafoam's comment; if you need to change things take your time.

2019-09-17 15:20:31 +0000 UTCIt's fine, as long as things are done to make it polished I don't mind waiting longer than normal. Would rather have your stuff working properly on your computer than having you worry sick or doing something crazy in a last resort phase
