Special Offer Thoughts

In case you're unaware, Patreon gives creators the capacity to run 'Special Offers'. These are short term extra incentives to attract new patrons or to increase a current patron's pledge. The idea is you offer something extra at a certain tier (and it automatically affects all tiers above) and anyone who starts pledging at that tier or who increases their existing pledge to that tier gets the something extra.
From what I can tell it's a 'If you're a patron of this tier at the listed date, you get the extra reward' jobbie. If that makes sense.
I'm thinking of running a special offer, but I'm unsure exactly what to offer. I've come up with a couple of options, but I'm open to suggestions. Keep in mind that this extra will be a one-off.
I'm also unsure at what tier to run the offer, but I reckon that'll depend rather on what the extra is.
This post is public to all, so whether you're a patron or not, please leave your thoughts.

Probably ink. But if this goes well maybe I can do another for a much higher reward tier and sign them in blood.

But hey if you want to take my idea to the merch store, go right ahead. You would have at least one person wanting to buy it.

2019-02-28 18:25:58 +0000 UTCI don't think Patreon is really equipped to handle that kind of arrangement. For large one-off payments in exchange for a physical object I reckon the merch store is a better bet. I have plenty of ideas for Gar1onriva posters, but so far I don't think there's enough interest to warrant the design costs. I'm afraid that the cost of acquiring, signing and then shipping the posters would outweigh the benefits of doing the offer. For the letter I was planning on sending people a printable one electronically. That way I have no postage costs (and for probably 200+ letters to other countries even the cheapest postage would be an arm and a leg) and no one needs to divulge their address to me.

2019-02-28 18:22:19 +0000 UTC11x17 in. Or 28x43 cm. This is just bouncing ideas around, but would it be possible to do a one-time large payment followed by the recurring payments? This way it will help with the cost of the poster. $20 and you get a free poster followed by $5 a month plan.

2019-02-28 17:59:21 +0000 UTCNo, this is an incentive to pledge. Anyone pledging at the given date gets the reward, but it's intended to get people to pledge and remain pledging after the offer ends. As for the poster, how big are you thinking? Because a large physical thing like that will cost money to design, produce and ship.

2019-02-28 17:43:11 +0000 UTCOkay if I am understanding it correctly, this is a one-time payment. And which making said payments will reap a reward. If this is the case, may I make a suggestion? Instead of a thank you letter, would it be possible to do a thank-you poster? It would be your mate icon, the one with the shield, stating that it is a patreon supporter; and it would have a handwritten "thank you, (username)"

2019-02-28 17:23:58 +0000 UTCAs I said, I'm not sure. It would depend on what the reward is.
