A Whopping FIVE PokéSins Blocked
Added 2018-01-19 23:23:03 +0000 UTCI checked my emails this evening to find that not one, not two, but FIVE episodes of PokéSins have been blocked today. Four happened within the space of half an hour while the fifth happened a little bit later.
Let me tell you, I am LIVID. I have had it with ShoPro's passive-aggressive attitude to me and other creators and I've had it with YouTube's policies which mean it will only sit and watch as its creators get beaten up.
I posted a thing a couple of weeks ago listing the pros and cons of various options moving forward with PokéSins. I dunno if it was how I presented it or just what people think is best, but most people seemed to support finding a YouTube alternative that has monetisation and posting there. I'm sorry, but I just don't think it's the best option.
I've been searching for an alternative and I've asked my network for ideas (who have been surprisingly supportive considering I'd be taking revenue away from them in moving), but I am yet to find a decent looking one that seems stable and reliable. Now it's over two weeks later and I'm no closer to continuing the series, but I have 5 less episodes earning revenue.
I've spent the last hour speaking to the person who made my website and she thinks it is both quick and easy to host my episodes there. There are a couple of things to test and one or two details that need addressing first, but once those are cleared, I can start uploading there.
This will mean adding/altering a Patreon reward tier to accommodate paid main series episodes of PokéSins, but I genuinely think it's the safest, easiest route to getting the series moving again. I apologise if you disagree with this course of action, but I ask that you trust me. I'll begin it as a trial period (prior to making any changes to my Patreon) to check the method supports the uploads, privacy, and traffic that doing it properly would entail.
The other day I finished my 'State of the Channel' video script and I'm glad that I planned it for this weekend as I will need to rewrite the PokéSins section. I shall push it back until I know if hosting on Gar1onriva.co.uk will work, releasing a G-Log announcing the recent blocking in the meantime. I will upload the missing episodes to DailyMotion (one of which is a $10+ episode, by the way) so they can still be viewed and I am more determined than ever to show ShoPro that them ignoring fair use law CANNOT stop me.

Yes, do it! Don't give up! Show them that big companies can't just push rights and behave as they want!

2018-01-21 18:31:48 +0000 UTCI keep trying, but it's not easy. Big, powerful companies are far off and hard to touch.

2018-01-20 18:01:40 +0000 UTCIs there any way to make ShoPro responsible for what they've done? I just can't believe that they just can keep doing that and get away with it.

2018-01-20 16:25:45 +0000 UTCI think I speak for all your fans when I say this: We are behind you all the way, and will support you with any decision you make. This has gone way beyond ridiculous.
