Development Poll #1

Hey there. Including a short update in this too. As we all know it's the start of the holiday season this month so I've been busier than usual and haven't been able to do much yet, but I wanted to gauge some opinions on what people think should be worked on next. Now I've already decided to work on the Lesser Succubus immediately, but after she's done there's a few options on where people want to see improvement most.

The purpose of the poll isn't so much going to be "100% do this and then this and then this next" but more to get an idea on what people want to see more of, as from my own perspective it can get difficult to truly know what people want next. I'm going to include as many of the options as I can think of, but if you've suggestions for anything I've missed feel free to leave a comment.


I'll note a few things here too about the options.

In regards to Bug Fixing there's a few I know about that already need doing, but there's some trickier ones around that may take some time for me to fix. This really depends on if the current bugs bother you enough that you'd forgo more content to get them dealt with sooner.

Enemy AI I've already taken a few attempts at improving. I kind of know how I want to do it now, so it might not take as long as could be assumed. That being said there's the chance something unexpected comes up with it that I'm not prepared for.

Death State is a fairly important one and it'll lead to a second poll to decide on what the Death State should actually be. For those entirely unaware, the Death State is what happens when your health reaches zero. Right now you have too much health to die with because Death for the player isn't decided yet. If this option reaches the top then the next poll will be to choose what exactly happens on player Death since there's a lot of ways to handle it. Examples are to revert to previous save (may be too punishing), have a 'lives' system, simply respawn in the nearest save room, endless h-scenes, maybe even a game-over scene but I'm not confident in my own art to provide something substantial for that just yet. There's a lot we can do with player death but the last thing I want is for it to be frustrating to deal with.

Objectives/Goals will include more items to find and collect, more things that need to be done to progress to different areas, and perhaps including reasons to actually be collecting stuff.

I know that Multiple Enemy H-scenes might be a popular choice, but of all the options it might also take me the longest. I'll need to figure out exactly how to go about it coding-wise, and then make the animations for it.

I would go for multiple enemy scenes, but less for the actual content and more because laying a framework for it now is going to be easier than if you decide to do it [n] releases down the line, and have to convert everything over. Otherwise, my vote would be... well, a lot more of the technical stuff. Would love to see more content, but I think votes are going to be skewed heavily towards that, and while the technical stuff isn't sexy, you're going to be glad you did it sooner rather than later.
