General Update #16

Time for another monthly update as I briefly try to recollect what was said in the last one...

So first off the blue-haired maid enemy is completely done now. She has all her animations and H-scenes and interacts (mostly) as expected with the player. (if there's two of them they both try to charge at the same time and shenanigans can occur).

The parry system is now also working entirely as intended. You hit the parry, you get a nice sound and screen effect to confirm you landed it, and the enemy falls down. Currently only the blue-haired maid can be parried but I'd like to give other enemies the ability to be parried too.

Now onto the topic of Development Builds and Main builds.

Main Build: A build that is released less frequently but offers a substantial amount of new content and systems and is (hopefully) relatively bug-free. These Main Builds are going to be the most accessible builds for Patrons, as it's in the mid-tier. A Main Build becomes free to the public when a newer Main Build is released, so mid-tier Patrons will always have access to the newest ones, and everyone else will get that same build when a new one releases.

Development Build: These builds will be released more frequently, typically when a new enemy and/or system is introduced to the game. These as a result offer less content than a complete Main Build, but you get it a lot sooner. Though these builds are also unstable and may contain quite a few bugs, but this'll also help me clean up those bugs before compiling it all into a new Main Build. Development Builds are for the highest-tier currently, and that's mostly because I'm unsure where to put it at the moment and want to see what works. In the future Development Builds may become available to the mid-tier Patrons but I am uncertain at the moment. We'll see how it goes.


With that out of the way let's look ahead. I've immediately started work on the next enemy, a green-haired maid with a steel chair. She'll be a more basic enemy compared to the blue-haired parry maid and will simply walk towards you and make a powerful swing of her steel chair. This swing is going to be stronger than other enemies so far with the intent to knock the player back further away and perhaps even stun them immediately. This attack is going to be a part of a range of attacks called "lethal attacks". These attacks will flash red before they occur to tell the player that they can't parry it, and that they likely should avoid it altogether.

I intend to start focusing entirely on new enemies this month with little work to additional systems like the parry system. That being that I want to just get a lot more content out there for the people that want it, and to deliver a Main Build as soon as I can. The goal for the first Main Build is to include a total of 6 enemies and 18 H scenes.

As a side note I've also revised the Patron tiers in comparison to how I've seen other Patreon creators structure theirs, and as with everything this is probably going to be susceptible to change.
