In this video, I talked about my experience at Superbooth in Berlin, especially discovering a new plugin suite called Atelier by GRM Tools. It’s a semi-modular VST effect instrument focused on high-quality sound design and ambience. The design reminded me of Bitwig’s Grid due to its modular structure and visual clarity. I was impressed by the intuitive interface, multi-channel routing, and modulation features. This was the first public demo, and it should be released around September.

By the way, GRM is Pierre Schaeffer’s research group, so this is basically the place where Musique concrète (and a whole approach to electroacoustic music) was born. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Musique_concrète#Groupe_de_Recherches_Musicales I don't recall using their original tools despite hanging out with Schaeffer fans when they came out. Maybe because we had more connections with IRCAM, which was also the place where interesting tools were being built (like Miller Puckette’s original version of Max). IRCAM still releases interesting tools though they tend to be clunky in terms of UX, including commercial ones.
