In this video, I'm diving into Drum Clone, a new and free plugin designed for percussive signal extraction and re-synthesis.
This tool allows you to isolate drum sounds from tracks with a lot of background noise or instruments, making it perfect for genres like drum and bass. I often work with classic breakbeats and need to extract specific sounds like kick drums while filtering out surrounding bass or other elements, and Drum Clone really helps with this process. Let me show you how it works and why it's useful.
Drum Clone isolates percussive sounds from dense tracks, ideal for drum sound design.
Free download, currently in beta, and made with the JUCE framework.
You load an audio file into the plugin, adjust markers to focus on the sound you want, like a kick drum.
It extracts clean waveforms while allowing you to adjust settings like "recover" to mix between the original and re-synthesized sound.
The plugin supports noise control, helping you recover elements of the original signal.
Currently optimized for kick drums, but future models for snares and other percussion might come.
A useful alternative to plugins like Kick 3 or Kick Ninja, offering fine-tuning of extracted drum sounds.
I think it's a great tool, and I look forward to seeing more updates!
