Listened to this a few weeks ago and this podcast - its really fit nicely into some of the study I've been doing. Brett, if you've not come across it before you should take a look into 'the hero with a thousand faces' - quite a famous book looking at the journey of the archetype 'hero' in world myth. Unsurprisingly, there are many references to the Christian origin story, Jesus, the Buddha, as well as many others from non-western and tribal society - it really is a dialectical investigation of sorts, drawing these various folk stories together into the concept of a 'monomyth'. (the writer also clearly develops an affinity and admiration for Buddhism as well which is fascinating and revealing in itself as he develops and deepens his concept of duality). For me, there's also clear potentials for investigation into myths connection to and relationship with early mysticism, spiritualism and religion. I've not finished it yet but to me it's clearly, at its core, an investigation into universal ideals and beliefs shared across quite a vast span of time and geogaphical space. Peace 🙏🏻

I am so glad you all enjoyed this episode so much, and got so much unique and diverse stuff out of it. Its definitely one of my favorites, and gestures toward a direction into religion and *authentic* spirituality that I will continue to take the show (in addition to the stuff we have always covered, of course!). :)
