From a Comrade - Help or SHARE If You Can
Added 2020-03-17 19:35:44 +0000 UTC"I wanted to ask a favour. Here in Birmingham UK, we run a worker co-op cafe that we opened this time last year. We are shutting for the period because it is irresponsible for us to stay open as a vector for infection. Instead we are switching into takeaway food and more importantly a solidarity kitchen that will deliver food and supplies by donation to those self isolating or in financial difficulty.
We raised over £1000 in the first day of the crowdfunder, but we are gonna need much more than that, the cafe itself has 9 members whose entire salaries (and ability to pay rent) is reliant on the business, so we need to be able to support ourselves as well as our community.
Please please please if there is any way you can help spread the word, or have someone from our crew onto your platform to promote the project and inspire others to start their own versions.

Good news is the govt is finally getting it's act together and gonna pay hospitality worker's wages 80% so we can just throw ourselves at the project and help as many people as possible. Anyone in the midlands in the UK please hmu.
