Incredible! Always love some more Jon! Wanted to add, regarding how we think of the present and this year feels like a decade. In Brazil, here’s some of the largest things that happened this year, it’s ludicrous: Military intervention in a favela in Rio; assassination of black LGBT congresswoman Marielle Franco and her driver, Anderson Gomes; World Cup and that temporary Brazilian patriotism and nationalism; the election cycle culminating in the victory of a fascist; and now his decisions for the coming years and his corruption scandals popping up (already!) Brazil has been in some powerful convulsions this year, and while some of these things feel really distant, to those in Rio that’s every day. We need to be mindful of these things, just because they’re no longer news, doesn’t mean they aren’t intensely going on for months
