Why weren't you a fan of these recs? Just curious, I'm looking for books on the Cultural Revolution to learn more.

Matt

It took me a long time (3 years) to finally read the books recommended in this episode and I very much disliked them. I would recommend The Battle for China’s Past by Mobo Gao and From Victory To Defeat by Pao-yu Ching as a counterpoint.

I would love for Zhang Yueran to come back on the show and talk more about their experiences and views on the struggles in China now.
