The synth uses the chebyshev fx module to create sounds and features looping AD envelopes to create evolving sounds.

Hey former thanks for the inspiration! Will look into the Gardner generator later, looks interesting!

Polarity

Hi Polarity, -Cool Synth! Lives definitely from the settings you found for it and has an nice organic quality- however, all synths using Chebychew tend to be loud, not easy to get soft sounds with it. -I run into a paper that claims they found a fundamental thing between perfect order and absolut randomness- based on a kind of fractal random generator- a little bit random, but not completely, with this organic quality: https://www.wired.com/2012/02/fractal-musical-rhythms/ It's based on a paper from 1975 from Martin Gardner at https://labs.la.utexas.edu/gilden/files/2016/04/Gardner-WhiteBrownFractalMusic.pdf I tried to find examples for such fractal beats/noise/melodies..but didn't succeed. Wonder, how it sounds. The fractal random generator from Gardner doesn't look overly complex..might be still difficult to get that with Bitwig- it has many options, but it's not an programming environment. Anyway- the idea, fractal math is used allover nature and might be also essential for what is perceived a good "swing" in beats or a good pattern for melodies is fascinating me. Might inspire you too to find new pattern generators.. I thought, if I don't get it done in the Grid, may be I can just record a fractal noise sample and use that as input generator..that would be not "true" randomness, but still give the idea, if the fractal add a quality to the beats/melodies. Regards, Former
