Hello everyone! - Patreon revamp (potential plans) & new album

In September, my new album Crowded Rooms comes out and all patrons will get their name printed on the vinyl release!

This is also going to come with a bit of a revamp to the Patreon page

Wanted to send a thanks, this group here on Patreon represents our most supportive fans and we really appreciate you :)

We got some changes coming up that we hope will make things even better for patrons and I wanted to swing them by you all before they’re implemented.

$1 and $3 tiers will no longer be available to new patrons and anyone who’s currently in those tiers now will be grandfathered into the $5 tier.

If you're in the $1 and $3 tiers. No need to do anything. You will get the same access to everything the $5 tier has.

That tier now includes everything have available now.

Early videos, Song stems, unreleased/extra material…

Edit: We will be keeping the commentaries :)

$10 tier still gets your name in the video’s description

And a new $25 tier gets your name in a special credit above that in the description. Fun name pending 🤔

Would love to hear your thoughts, I'm open to adjusting the plan here to make these best for you all :)

For example, after hearing the responses to losing the commentary, I'm thinking about keeping it around and moving the livestreams to more around events.

And I mispoke in this video! If you're a free member currently, you have until this Wednesday actually to hop on the 1,3 dollar tiers and be grandfathered into the $5 perks. That's when we'll be unlisting the 1,3 tiers

So yea!

That’s the plan!

Super excited for this new album.

Super excited to get these vinyls out.

Really really appreciate you all here!

Thanks you so much for supporting what we do!

Yeah makes sense, i didnt really see the point of a 1 and 3 dollar tier lol. New album is sick btw listening to it rn.

drwoah

I am just replying to add that I am another person who loves those older albums

Patrick McPherson

yknow I just thought, didn't rob ruccia master Aldine? if you don't have it he probably does

Kristian Nowak

Yo I’ve. Been wanting to see you in person but sadly I can’t find a way cause I play cello and I wanted to jam a little buuuut yea😅😭also keep up the good work bro

Ikhaya Tapia

Much much super much thanks :) I really appreciate it. I'm so glad the videos we make resonated with you. I'm gladyou found the glass armonica video too! That shoot was so wild, I have never been more worried about injury before while playing an instrument haha Denis James told me very early that the bowls of the glass armonica can brake. and I love your vocal addition to Psychosis btw

Rob Scallon

I also think it be a good idea to see if people do come to the live streams. I would love to see them, but again see if there is enough of an 'audience' for it.

Scott Vogel

Just subscribed to the $25 tier. you are the first person i have ever supported on patreon lol. just wanted to say you are suchhhhhh a big inspiration to me , i’m so thankful for the youtube algorithm that showed me your glass armonica video lol, you’ve inspired me to really lock into learning guitar and music as a whole, i also purchased your guitar courses too! thank you so much for everything you do and i will always support ! :’)

First of October reference

Porter Tobin

I've decided to keep the commentary and make the livestreams just an occassion thing we might do around big releases :) Thank you so much for your feedback! It's a huge help for me to best make the patreon awesome

Rob Scallon

Thanks Rob!

Christopher Buecheler

oooooo ya know I didn't think about that until now but absolutely when we do a post for the album will have the lossless files here + the stems too

Rob Scallon

an aldine vinyl would actually be the best thing to exist ever probably

Kristian Nowak

will patreon have a download of the album when it releases?

Kristian Nowak

if you have it a digital release of it would be cool if you ever decide to do that

L

I don’t usually comment on Patreon, but there are at least two people interested! Haha! I love those albums.

Jayden Poutu

Thanks Christopher! dude, It's confusing to me too as I'd prefer to go monthly, but Patreon is capable of switching my account over. So it will continue per video, but with the option to cap that at one so it's basically monthly. a bit confusing wording, but that's what we got :)

Rob Scallon

you're the second to say so! And I'm not seeing anything about the livestreams So I'm thinking about reevaluating and keeping the commentary :) just keeping the livestreams for certain events when they pop up and not having it be a regular thing

Rob Scallon

track 12! haha oh woah, I don't even know if I have that anymore do you have it? should I go searching? I know I have it somewhere For Crowded Rooms we plan on only doing vinyl. keep the cassettes for the FOOS and I don't plan on rereleasing any of the older stuff, but it's really cool to hear that there is at least one person out there who is interested in it

Rob Scallon

yea, I'm the same with any FOO stuff I want it all! haha but your the second person here to mention the commentaries and I'm starting to rethink it right now I'm leaning towards keeping the DVD extra commentary and just doing live streams around events when we feel we want to it would be so cool if youtube had VOD options like that, like if you could right within the video change to commentary. I think it's coming, but not out yet anyway, I really appreciate your response, I want to do whats best for people here and this helps me. the commentaries also are fun for me, and livestreams are more organization work

Rob Scallon

Looking forward to the new album! Just to be clear - the $5 tier is still per video? Or is it just a monthly thing now? I've lost track 😅

Christopher Buecheler

I was part of the small group where I enjoyed the commentary, but I would gladly have live streams take it place.

Scott Vogel

you mentioned a vinyl for the album but is there gonna be a cd and/or tape also? im also wondering if theres any plans to reissue cds of your older solo albums? (mainly aldine; and also if a hypothetical repressing would have that exclusive track 12 called like !??!?!?!! or whatever)

L

Ah, don't feel obligated to keep it around just for my schedule! I appreciate the thought though 😊 It sounds like it would be a lot to manage if you did both 🤔 unless you did something like... make a part of the livestream be a commentary on a previous video, then post that section as a separate video? But I don't know if that'd be too much fuss/not interesting for the livestream viewers. (Potentially, if you didn't want to post it as a separate video, you could use the Youtube chapters thing to just make it clear where in the VOD the commentary can be found, for folks that want those in particular? Again, don't know how much fuss that would be...) Other idea: do the commentary videos just for First of October, because I would miss those the most 🤭

Zichqec

Are the vinyl pre-orders up anywhere, or still TBD?

Daniel Rushik

woo!

Rob Scallon

thanks! excited to put it out!

Rob Scallon

ah, yes I see thanks for commenting and sharing this! really appreciate you hmmm, I didn't really consider that yea maybe it's worth it then to continue on with the commentaries if they are valuable for people. The livestreams certainly are time sensitive too, if people wanted to be a part of them. I'll put some thought into continuing the commentaries maybe we could implement both!

Rob Scallon

I'll miss the commentaries for sure. Unfortunately, the streams won't be a viable replacement for me 😅 my time is extremely limited, and as livestream content tends to be at least an hour, often multiple hours long, I just can't give up that much time out of my day to consume it. But I understand why the commentaries are being phased out, and I wish you luck with the livestreams even if I can't be there!

Zichqec

Can't wait to hear the new album!

Daniel Rushik

Excited for the album!
