Writing Metal Without Hearing It

Writing music without hearing it. What could go wrong!?
Was an interesting experiment and semi-new I-have-an-editor-now style for the channel. I hope you enjoy it and think it's a fun direction for the channel to sometimes go in.

Thank you!

C standard I think? maybe C#

Rob Scallon

What tuning is this in?

Brad Tucker

Thank you! Yea, I think it's a really fun concept but I'd need to find some new spin on it to do it regularly. Maybe different genres? or different time limits? idk We'll see what happens, but I'm sure I'll this somehow another time thanks!

Rob Scallon

Hey well thank you so much Todd! I really appreciate it. Glad you enjoy the videos and music and whatnot. I'm not sure what else to say here but thanks haha and that the next video up is going to be pretty cool and out there. And completely unable to exist without the patreon budget behind it. So this page and these patrons on it are directly responsible for it. So thanks again. We're finishing it up now, so it's on my mind. Have a good one!

Rob Scallon

Hey Rob, first off: great video! Great song! Great times! Second: I just got on Patreon after watching your stuff for a little over a year (sorry it took so long to start supporting, but, for what it's worth, I have already picked up both your albums...LPs...EPs...CDs with music on them) and I just wanted to say (Sappy music: on) that the awesome music you write aside (and seriously, it is awesome) it's just super cool to see someone who is so down to earth, loves the music, and connects so much with his fans doing what he loves to do. It makes your already awesome music (and again: seriously, it is awesome) all the more enjoyable. Thanks for doing what you do, man.

Alex Todd

Absolutely loved this, found it super interesting how it pushed you into things you wouldn't normally do. Dunno' how much effort this format takes, or how much mileage you think it's got, but I'd be super down to watch a 'Deaf Metal Monthly' series.

Stefan C Bauer

That would be fun! I imagine that would be a bit harder to work out. But that might make the video more fun too haha

Rob Scallon

Thank you!

Rob Scallon

Thanks! and yea, that's weird. why haven't I posted the tab? Not on the computer that has the tab saved right now, but have it on my to-do list

Rob Scallon

haha glad you liked it. I think the song turned out pretty safe. Might be more fun to try this again and take more risks.

Rob Scallon

It's a pretty amazing program. Though crashes a lot.

Rob Scallon

+ beanie - talent

Rob Scallon

haha yes, always save when working in guitarpro. Ever minute. It crashes a lot.

Rob Scallon

That riff was so cool, one of the coolest I've heard, just the rhythm of it sounded really proggy to me. I think that would have sounded really cool on your 8 string! Anyways, so impressed by how you did this in 2 hours, hope you post more like this in the future! :) (PS. remember to save your project next time :D)

Marius Killingdalen

tuxguitar ftw

Luke Boyle

The new Beethoven.

Samuel Brémont

Awesome idea and inspiring to learn GP as well haha

Rob Lundgren

Woah! Didn't expect this to turn out this good! But then again, it's from Rob f*cking Scallon. Keep this format, I liked it.

Daniel Latsch

This tune was fucking awesome dude, seriously so impressive !!!!! I am surprised you haven't posted the tab!! :P

Ryan Peacock

Corrado Felici
