The first image was me workshopping the right expression and pose to give Penny. They're arranged in order of attempts.
The things that made the final sketch stand out for me were:
Penny is angled opposite of Tamberlane and more in the foreground, which contrasts their reactions nicely
She looks horrified, but also concerned as she realizes Jonas's state
She's looking down at the leg instead of at the viewer/Jonas
Sometimes you just have to keep trying things til it works!
The other attachment is the flats reference I've used for this scene. I had a version where I just omitted Jonas's lower half that I used for streams. There was a LOT to keep track of this scene!
