Which it is not right now. But i whole heartedly understand the frustration. In the end it's all bullshit, loved hearing your perspective Bren!

2020-07-31 17:06:50 +0000 UTCIt isn't pulling magic levers, its incredibly rich families who control the financial institutions, bribe/blackmail politicians and control the media. start wars, sell weapons to both sides. It's not really a conspiracy theory to believe that, it's just a hard truth that people don't want to think about. Even if our system was a true democracy and not a two party system that chooses their own candidates, at the end of the day, your candidate is already in someones pocket anyways. People definitely get obsessed with conspiracy theories on an unhealthy level. but to say the system is rigged and voting for anything other than local government is utterly pointless, that just seems like stating what most people are already aware of.

Votes for the president outside of purple states barely matter, so it is meaningful en masse to leave that blank if you can - voting is pointless viewed as a solitary activity, the people must be organized by and for the people. Like, voters in LA city council district 4 have the chance to vote for Nithya Raman. Voting apathy can only be smoothed out by change at the roots, voting for people who will strengthen community, dignity, and integrity. The small people make up the party and its choices.
