This page was surprisingly hard to layout. That first panel was a real doozy, and you wouldn't have expected that! I'm not entirely happy with the end result, but that's fine -- better that it's done and I can move on and take lessons going forward.
It was important to show the wheelchair Stoker is wheeling in, but due to the layout requirements of the other panels, it couldn't be a vertical panel, which would have been best. (Showing more of Stoker and the wheelchair without taking up so much room.) The "Now?" panel needed to be small for a brief moment of hesitation and vulnerability, and the panel of the other kids listening needed to be long to imply a longer moment spent. So this was the best I could come up with.
Originally it was just Stoker in that panel, but I added Terra in at the last moment to both show the layout of the room more and to fill out the panel. (Also helps to show her worried reaction.)
I love that panel with Penny and Tamberlane. Penny has no idea what's going on and she wants to know the ~tea~. Tamberlane knows, though, and she feels bad for Jonas.
Anyway, one last page in this scene after this!
