IMPORTANT! The Patreon Has Been Relaunched!

Hey guys! It's finally happened! The Patreon has done been vamped!

In celebration, we're running a limited offer for the next two weeks! Any patrons pledging at the $25 tier or above at the end of the offer period will receive a special postcard in the mail with a special piece of art! I'll be doing the piece as some fun art for myself (so it's symbolic of the shift this Patreon is taking!).

Here's what you need to know about the Patreon changes:

• This Patreon is no longer labeled Adult.

• This Patreon is now billed by subscription instead of batch billing. That means that instead of being billed at the start of every month, you will be billed on the same day of the month you signed up (e.g. if you signed up April 4th, you'll be charged again May 4th). This will help ease confusion about pledging at the end of a month, reduce refund requests, and also opened up some extra functionality on my end that is very helpful.
  Please note that unfortunately you will pay an extra card fee if you are signed up to both monthly batch Patreons and subscription billing Patreons. You can reduce the amount of fees you pay by pledging to any subscription billing Patreons on the same anniversary day, as Patreon will bundle fees together that go out on the same day. All existing patrons will have their anniversary automatically set to the 1st.

• There's now a 7-day free trial for new $2 and $5 patrons.

• For every 50 new paying patrons, we will host a free public art raffle stream! Each stream will have multiple winners who will get free art drawn on-stream. Some streams may be like Scottderg's streams with other guest artists and voice hosts joining us. Some may be just me; depends on how we're feeling at the time.

• Resident of Abroad has been unpublished as a tier. Any Residents still pledging will retain their access to Patreon Discord channels for 6 months after they stop pledging to the RoA tier.

• Beta Bats (beta readers) are no longer selected through Patreon.

• Sketch Requests have been removed. 

• Monthly postcards have been removed.

• Many rewards have moved to "as available" or "periodically available" and are released… well, as they're available, rather than on a fixed cadence

• The new top tier is $150 instead of $250, to reflect the reduced value in rewards. If you wish to pledge higher than that, I recommend choosing the $150 tier and then adjusting the value you spend.

• $25+ tier patrons get one free Tale from Treehollow from the Tamberlane shop (TECHNICALLY it's $5 off TfTs in your order, usable once, but same difference). Be sure to use your coupon code to go get them!

Our Philosophy Changed

This was mentioned in our "THE PLAN" post in early March, but here's a summary: For this revamp, we centered the rewards on byproducts of the comic instead of extra work and rewards. This Patreon is meant to be a way for people to support the comic rather than a way to get tailored rewards. The reality is that we are putting out a very high quality comic for free to tens(!) of thousands(!!) of people, and that is a pretty mighty service we provide on its own. Patrons are sponsoring the production of Tamberlane on behalf of themselves and everyone else who read it.

Higher tiers have rewards that may not feel commensurate to the price being paid, but that is because they're geared toward people who wanted to pay that much regardless. It's instead a little bonus appreciation for them.

Next Steps

Whew!! Now that that's done, what's on our plate? Well, besides continuing to keep up with comic pages, my plan is to get back to finishing up the outstanding sketch requests from last year, as well as the outstanding emote reward requests. 

We're also still doing work on the books and such, for the Kickstarter -- I want to get the digital books formatted soon so that we can update the free PDFs that come with the Patreon. Right now, they're still the old, pre-edits versions, and that will not stand!!
