Have a good one!

Sitar Metal

Comments

Not sure how you'd do it, but I'm sure it would be a great video.

Thomas Hill

hahsahahahahahahaha oh man that's good...

Rob Scallon

Put out a sitar video on the 2nd channel chatting about it :) well more playing it I guess, not so much on recording with it. Once big challenge when recording with it was just keeping it in the same place with the mics. Have to wedge it into the wall so I could walk away from it and hit record between takes.

Rob Scallon

Not to directly here, more so going through the regular metal playing moves and seeing what still works on the instrument.

Rob Scallon

Yea! I think this actually works out really well. Would be cool to put vocals on it, maybe with Sarah

Rob Scallon

Yea that's definitely on the to-do list currently I'm between whether I should write a 4-ish minute song with what I've written on it so far or if I should expand that to a half hour. Leaning towards half hour.

Rob Scallon

Saw this comment on the 2nd channel video for Sitar and figured I'd spread it here. Rob, you should do a half hour of Sitar. 500 likes on that comment. I'd love to hear a new half hour video with Sitar only.

Timothy Castiglia

Damn, Rob. This is so catchy. I'll never get enough of this. It's shame there is no Sitar metal band, it would be a real blow-up

Wisdoms Wind

Thanks!

Rob Scallon

Would love to, this same shop I filmed in had some lutes as well. Really only a matter of time until I put something together with them

Rob Scallon

well thanks for watching it!

Rob Scallon

:) glad you dig it

Rob Scallon

Yea, I'm planning on doing a few videos like that soon. I really enjoy making stuff for the 2nd channel. And it did take some getting used to for sure. Had a similar feel to a scalloped neck but like, times ten.

Rob Scallon

Glad you liked it! In this case it was just a matter of finally get my hands on a sitar.

Rob Scallon

Glad you dug it!

Rob Scallon

I would be interesting to hear you talk about the challenges/differences/lessons-learned after recording with a sitar. Cheers!

Luis Navarrete

Some slayer inspiration on these song?

Carlos Lara

This video further confirms my theory that you can and will play any and every instrument ever. I expect a notorious BIG "gimme the lute" cover in the future. (forgive me for the terrible pun)

Thomas Hill

Haha This was awesome!

Inkcorperated Muzic

Rob your instruments never cease to amaze me! I have a suggestion for you, could you by any chance do a video with a lute? That would be insane!!!

Bryan Lai

I don't know how you come up with this stuff but keep doing it for the love of god :D

Tristan Thompson

One of my favourite instruments combined with one of my favourite genres. More please ;)

좆같네

I am actually just really excited to see the breakdown of hearing all about this video on the second channel. I would love to play around with a Sitar. Is it weird having the gap between the frets and the actual board behind it?

Dillonkillen

You know Rob, appreciated the fact that you would use your commentary to comment about how I commentated on your commentating.

WP

Ace!

WP

The Scene is Reborn. Should be on a part 2 of your album :D This is great :)

Ryan Peacock

Haha, this is epic! Don't know how you keep coming up with this wonderful stuff .

Ian Hall

Needed a boost of inspiration...accomplished...amazing once again you magnificent bastard!

Seven Stone

Glad you enjoy it! Also, I think you'll like the commentary on your commentary parodying my commentary that I commentate on in the commentary.

Rob Scallon

Sitar, cheese and crackers sounds like a nice snack

Rob Scallon

That was intense, but at the same time relaxing. One of my favorites now!

WP

I used to have a wire cheese cutter.....I don't think I could touch this thing without imagining cheese and crackers.

Matt Kouba

19? haha, yea the biggest issue would be to dampen all those strings while trying to rock the solo :D but my interest is in how those long ring out notes would turn out, I need to get to that one day

Rob Lundgren

Yea, I think it worked surprisingly well! Was a challenge to keep the sounds that define it as a sitar while also incorporating the rock/metal styles I'm used to.

Rob Scallon

Thanks for watching!

Rob Scallon

I actually would love to listen to a band that made just stuff like this.

Rob Scallon

haha awesome man. absolutely love it. always liked Sitar, worked well actually.

Doodles

Thanks! And in case like these it's more just taking a lot of my guitar practice to another instrument. Would be a long while until I could play it properly

Rob Scallon

Would be interesting but it would probably just end up sounding like a crappy guitar. I can't imagine the 19 strings really all coming through when it was distorted.

Rob Scallon

haha yea just about

Rob Scallon

glad you dig it :)

Rob Scallon

Thanks! Has been fun to learn the absolute basics of

Rob Scallon

WOW! That's amazing Rob!! Works so well! You're so talented, keep it up!!

Rob Grady

Very original, good job.

Ill Find a Name Later

WOW, you blow me away yet again! It's amazing how you are able to play all these instruments so well...

Marius Killingdalen

Would be interesting to hear the sitar with dist, or maybe it would lose too much of it´s character

Rob Lundgren

You really will make metal out of any instrument you find, huh?

Jacob Anderson

haha that was awesome!

Ryan Lawley

Sound really cool! Love it

Nikita Pukkonen

Much thanks Anthony!

Rob Scallon

Absolutely quality. Keep them coming.

Anthony Devonald
