February update!
Added 2015-02-04 08:21:20 +0000 UTCI thought I'd write a bit about January, and plans for February. First things first. January rewards are coming later this week or early next week. Reaching 300$ is amazing, and I hope we can reach 400$ and 4 Free Art Fridays next month. January went very well for me artistically. Yet still, I didn't reach my goals. Let's review: + I finished illustrating 36 What The Moon Brings, lettered half of Ex-Oblivione, and re-lettered, put together, and ordered Memory as a physical book. You'll all get access to the digital Memory book in a short while. - Memory took way too long to redo, so I didn't get to publish Ex-Oblivione. - I didn't get to do (secret thing you will see first!) + I did 6 pages of my guest spot of DAZZ, and they look really good. - I aimed for 10 pages. + I did 2 Free Art Fridays, and produced 6 ink originals. - I'm still not technically proficient, and don't know how to integrate videos, images, or music. + I reworked and released a lot of old DΓΆs Paginas for web. - I didn't make a new one. Most of these failures come from how long Memory took, and a little January flu. Now February... - DΓΆs Paginas is on hold. If I find a way to do them I will. - Nyarlathotep, the last of the illustrated Lovecraft prose-poems, is on hold. I've been doing these since December 1st, and need to refocus before work suffers. - Releasing Memory, Ex-Oblivione, and What the Moon Brings is postponed. I need to launch them well-timed and. You'll get access to them digitally as soon as they're done. + Blastfest! I will be drawing concerts all Blastfest, so I'll get to do a ton of art of Rotting Christ, Satyricon, Paradise Lost, Destroyer 666, BΓΆlzer, Primordial, Sarke, and moooore. + I'll try to finish my DAZZ comic. I'll be posting previews. + I'll work on the (secret thing you will see first) + Three Free Art Fridays! So this may sound like a bit of a break for me, but instead it's a refocus. As I said at the start of this campaign, I'm trying to support myself on three pillars: Crowfunding, Selling original art, and selling digital downloads and print-on-demand. Right now digital-downloads are waaay behind, to the degree that I'm actually loosing money each year to hosting and printing costs. And the site that is supposed to be my main hub is down. So it is nearly impossible to find all the different stores I'm at and projects I do. So I have to get www.freecomics.no up again, with easy access to my products, blogs, and projects, newsfeed with all major events, information about work-for-hire and commission, and also a store to sell a few select products directly. Hopefully this will help immensely in the long run. I'll also be teaching myself how to work better with my GNU/Linux OS called Ubunt,u trying out the totally free-and-open-source OS Trisquel for work, learning to use the video-editor Kdenlive and the 3D modelling and video-editor program Blender, and lastly figuring out Youtube live-casting. So hopefully by the end of the month, I'll have an awesome website, a better workflow for more art, and Free Art Fridays with an intro and outro, video and music breaks, and all around cooler stuff. I'll also try to post more stuff to you. Hope this sound cool! Thanks for your support!
