My room is on the street level, in the middle of a block. And I have been blessed by knocks on the window many times. It's a horrible sound, especially if you are asleep - that always felt like waking up with a heart attack. Sometimes it was a friend who thought knocking on window is ok, sometimes it was a mailman, handing me a package through the window who knows why. Sometimes I quickly looked outside and noone was there... even though it took me mere seconds to look and I could see both ends of the block completely empty...
