Added 2025-03-15 01:33:00 +0000 UTCWelcome to the 3rd topic submission post for the Patreon Exclusive series, TOPIC ZONE, where I give my thoughts on topics and games you'd like to hear me discuss in a more freeform fashion. Each patreon tier will get its own post for you all to submit your topics too. TOPIC ZONE isn't voting based like the patreon voted review. Instead, the submissions are selected based on a random lottery system and each tier gets its own number of slots. The Gentry get 3 topic slots, the Illuminati get 2, and the Homies get 1 for a grand total of 6 topics I will cover each ep :-) So go ahead and post your topic submission right into the comments of this post and I will record the ep and release it before the end of the month :-)

2025-03-24 05:00:43 +0000 UTCI just wanna here you talk about shmups more, and also miss Touhou Quest, but I suppose those are more main-topic videos. 1) I've always had this theory that game design is either good nor bad based on how it aligns with the dev intentions. Like, how sometimes devs use "bad controls" intentionally, and since it aligns with an intention and fits the gameplay, it ends up being good design, where if another dev just didn't know what they were doing and used those same controls without intention, those same ones could end up being bad design. 2) "Flawed Games" don't exist. We like them or we don't. Nearly every time someone points out a "flaw in a game", I see how it could be something someone else could love, and it's got me thinking that "flaws" are just a way for people to express their subjective distaste in a way that doesn't call their own tastes out. 3) The death of games criticism as critics either don't understand points 1 and 2 from above, or would rather make Joseph Anderson ranting hot takes based a million miles from facts for rage bait and clicks than actually make valid criticism to the point of using objective lies to do it, and then those lies take form and become the community's truth on a game.O Rambling thoughts while I'm still waking up, probably not the best, but, ya know, could be fun to ramble about.
