I cover the new upgrades to the patreon content that are coming next month and the new Gentry $8 tier, and I cover my trip to the Portland Retro Gaing Expo, my thoughts on graded mass-produced video games and why they are not the same as hand created art (like paintings), and also my realization born from my time in Portland that I instinctively want to view and present myself primarily as a writer/video creator and not as an E-Celeb.

Game critique in it's raw form being meaningless without breaking down the innate correlations and applying sigma rules to construe useful extractions of critical points for viewing. Tieing it all together with graphics. Interesting.

So in street fighter 5, the "meta" of the game was this mini wake-up game you played with shimmies ha. So for the show "metacritique" this means the critique of the critique ha.

I'll have to take a look at it because yes, I think it's a much cooler direction to take a youtube career than just aiming to be an online personality only. I def like the idea of creating art that lasts beyond just the will and whim of the youtube alg ha.

Idaho county fairs can be pretty fun at times, I remember years ago buying the entire series of Sopranos on DVD for like $4. Also buying chickens at the fair is pretty funny. i remember as a kid I really wanted a chicken because I played a bunch of harvest moon and thought it would be awesome to start raising livestock for some reason.

That is a style of review where one essentially condenses their entire let's play of a game's campaign down to 20-50mins and then critiques the various gameplay elements of the game as they occur. Very good American Literary Fiction. Just independently published on Kindle and paperback using amazon's print on demand. Supposedly took 3 years on-and-off and a little help and it happened. Shoot, even Mattheematosis is working on a game now instead of videos. So larger careers are in reach of niche YTer who lives off of patreon. No wonder the panel thing seems pointless. The interest is in putting real works out there.

Great episode man and yeah I’ve definitely done a 180 on physical collecting over the years. The value of the games I already have is nostalgia from being a kid, and the desire to collect “what I couldn’t buy as a kid” lost its luster quickly. I’m much more selective about buying physical (usually only older games) nowadays, and it’s mainly for speed running on a CRT. Assuming I don’t have a flash cart or something lol.

You’ve said you like it, so it’d be cool to hear what you think are its strengths (personally I love both of the new dooms and they’re some of my favorite games).

So to see that you're taking the idea of criticism in general, as seriously as the critiques you dish out yourself, is refreshing.
