Exclusive Sneak Preview (Audio)! My GUEST REVIEWS FOR JUNKIE'S UPCOMING SNES VIDEO

Hi Patrons,

I thought it would be fun to share with my favorite fans, the patrons, a little exclusive for an upcoming project. For Shmup Junkie's SNES Shooter video, I am contributing three reviews that I am very excited about, SNES FOX, Star Fox 2, and Wild Guns. This will be just the audio so it will be really cool still to see the final product on how he edits my audio into the video.

Cheers and thank you so much for supporting the channel!!

Sincerely,

Mark

i believe the video is about shooters on the snes rather than just sctricly shmups. For sure if you are going traditional style shmups genesis has a lot more of them, but I think the snes has some really cool non traditional stuff like wild guns and star fox :-)

I see you guys are getting flexible with the usual definition of shmup. But I get it. As much as it would have pained kid me to admit it, the Genesis kids were right, the SNES/Super Famicom is a pretty lousy platform for shmups as traditionally defined. It only has about 30 in the library, (half what the Genesis has and like 1/4 of the PC Engine's god-tier shmup library), and like 10 of them are kinda lousy. Granted about 10 of them are pretty damn good, but even a bunch of those are early games like Super-R-Type that are throttled by slow down. Going further afield with allowable games in the category definitely makes for a better video. All that said, Super Aleste is hands down a top 5 all-time shmup to me. Compile peaked right there.
