2021 planning update βοΈπ
Added 2021-01-05 16:00:17 +0000 UTChi everyone, I hope you're all doing okay! the weather is ~slightly~ better today but not amazing, so hopefully the photos aren't too dark β οΈ

last week when I was ordering some bits for wednesday, I saw that a few hobonichi weeks notebooks were available on amazon uk (I feel like it's important to note that I'm not usually a fan of supporting amazon, but recently it's the only place that has wednesday's food in stock, and when I saw the notebook (that I had coincidentally been about to purchase directly from hobonichi in japan) I decided that ordering it within the uk was probably preferable to paying a second round of fedex fees), so I ordered it. hopefully you won't all judge me too harshly π₯

I had been considering for a little time already about potentially adding a second book into my 2021 planning set up, as while I love the a6 book, in december I often wished I had a little more room to make some additional notes about what I had been watching, reading, listening to, thinking about, etc. with the daily pages in the a6 I usually only have room for my to-do's on the left, and my small daily overview/journal on the right, as shown in the fourth and fifth pictures. so that's my small justification, and I'll explain the new book in more detail further down!
the photo below just shows a small update to my january calendar, as I've been trying to add some small decoration with stickers! the aim is to bring a lil soft interest to the pages while keeping it all minimal and gentle on the eyes. a little bit of fun, but not so much that it becomes distracting or time consuming π

next are some photo's of my daily pages- as mentioned above, I keep my to-do list on the left, and use this space in conjunction with my "things" app (which you can read more about in this post) and on the right I add a short overview and reflection of my day. I'm decorating these pages intermittently in much the same way, soft and minimal with a little muted colour βοΈβ¨

the sherlock illustration that I shared in my original planner post actually fell out- the page(s) it was attached to came lose in the binding π₯΄ (not sure if maybe I didn't stick it in very well or if I caught it at some point), but it started to stick/hang out quite badly so I gently pulled it out and have tucked it somewhere safe. in it's place I added a small "autistic sherlock holmes" moodboard that I made from a pinterest board I keep around the same theme π at least this way I still have some nice sherlock content to look at when I want/need to.
on the left-hand side I have a couple of lists of movies that I would like to watch (that are currently streaming online), as this year I want to try and watch more new movies- ones that I haven't seen rather than new releases (though I'll watch those too!). hopefully the lists will not only help me remember but also help me avoid scrolling endlessly and then just rewatching something silly. I'll be adding a box around the second list too (when wednesday next settles for a few minutes!), so please ignore it floating around down there π

these "favourites" pages are printed/included in the notebook that I used for the end of 2020, but not the planner edition which I bought for 2021, so I printed the template from the hobonichi website because I thought it was nice! I'm going to keep a bigger, more general log of the films, tv shows and books that I consume this year but it will be nice to keep a separate record of the ones I loved most.

and finally, the new book! it's the hobonichi "weeks" book with a shaun tan cover, which is really beautiful, and matches my a6 cover well, i think π I've set up the calendar page in the same way as in the a6 so that I can find the information I need quickly, regardless of which book I'm carrying.

this is what the inside pages look like- small weekly spreads on the left, and an additional space for notes on the right. my intention for this book is for it to serve as a sort of overflow, with room for writing about my interests and thoughts, but it's also where I'll be doing the more general tracking of the media I consume πγ°οΈ

the pages aren't very interesting to look at just yet as I'm still working things out, but hopefully with time I'll discover a new system and get them looking a bit better! the weekly book will also allow me space to plan work projects in more detail, if I need to do that πβοΈ essentially it just allows me a bit more room in general- I won't need to compromise on or choose between the information that I need and the memories that I want to keep, because I can have both πππ»
that's all, I think! I hope this was interesting and please feel free to ask questions below, if you have any πβ¨
take care, friends x
