This is fine, but you need to establish a causal connection. Have the grenade blow up a door control, or a sensor or power relay or something. For instance: "As the Frag Grenade bounces uselessly past the Stormtroopers, we see an Imperial Mouse Droid come round the corner. 'Ber-be-bippup' it chirrups. "The Droid sees the party and beeps in agitation. 'Ber-be-bippup!!' It's spotted the party! It's going to take a warning back to the control room!" "But then the camera focuses on the errant frag grenade as it finally comes to rest by the Mouse Droid. The Droid squeaks in alarm, just before being blown apart!"
