If you give me an inch, I go a mile -- especially with creepy aesthetics, haha. When the commissioner mentioned that Riley would be obsessed with Holly, I naturally leaned in on that, making Riley basically as creepy as I could. I had to balance that with her jock-ish aspects, she couldn't be a weirdo shut-in or something, so I went about it from the angle that her creepiness is a hidden part of her. She's obsessed and possessive of Holly, but only able to express that when there's the opportunity.
After re-reading this one again, I do feel like Holly gets snubbed a bit in this position. She doesn't get to do much on her own, her desires get pushed aside a lot. She's... basically just a victim in all this ahaha. I was having trouble finding a good character for her, something that makes their relationship really click. By the middle of it, I started going into their relationship like a princess-knight dynamic, where Holly is this pristine soft type with a haughty attitude, whereas Riley is hard-working, reliable, but hyper-committed to what she swears herself to. I could easily see these story beats being rewritten with those exact details in mind~ but I think it serves them well enough here.
