Cherry Blossom Oni Treant

Time to reveal a little bit of the next model! Remember the last poll? That's right, it's time for the first Treant: the Cherry Blossom.
I have to admit, I struggled quite a bit with how I wanted to tackle this one. I've been looking up a bunch of Treant depictions, but I found most of them too rigid and awkward (that or just pretty much bark skinned humans) and not at all like something that could blend into a forest, waiting for people to pass by. I wanted to approach it as more of a lurker, something that looks slightly humanoid in shape if you squint and gives you this eery feeling, but it's just your imagination, right?
Then I got the idea of using a wooden mask that's carved into the tree for the face, rather than having a few hollow gaps there. And since you guys chose a Japanese tree, the choice what kind of mask to incorporate was an obvious one: a Japanese demon, or Oni, Mask!
I hope you will like this concept and don't think it's too far-fetched! I myself am quite excited about it and think it would be cool to have an African counterpart as well, with one of their cool masks! Or you know, a Banyan tree with a traditional Khon mask :P
