Loving MX Linux

So, I started my MX Linux long-term review this past week, and I have to say, I'm really liking it so far. A lot of the built-in tools are kind of useless for me, because I don't need a GUI to help me with my bashrc, but some of them are quite awesome. I love the snapshot tool, and I plan to use that to install MX on my laptop sometime this week. That should be great.

The only issue I've had so far is that I'm so unused to using a floating window manager/DE. KDE used to be my jam, loved it so much that I couldn't possibly go away from it. Now it just feels odd. Having to click on a window to get it to focus? What is this, the 90s? I know that can be changed, and I tried that, but it doesn't work that great since you still have to move your mouse to get the window to focus. I'm used to using the vim keys to move focus around. I could probably set that up.

I think before I abandon KDE completely and go back to bspwm, I'm going to try to integrate one of the tiling window managers into KDE and see how replacing kwin works. I've never done that before, so that should be an adventure. If it goes well, I'll do a video on how to do it.

Other than that, there haven't been any issues. Well, I can't get Alacritty to work. They do have a deb package, and I installed it, but it does not like my Alacritty.yml config. Nothing but errors. Right now, I'm sticking to Konsole, but maybe Kitty will get some attention from me once I go back to bspwm.

Hope everyone has a great week,

Matt
