The Transfer to VimWiki
Added 2021-06-01 19:47:19 +0000 UTCFor the last year, or so, I've been using Zim for all of my note taking needs, and it has been great. Honestly, there's no reason for me to switch away from it other than I'm trying to consolidate my apps a bit.
So, I've switched to VimWiki. The only issue is that I really want to take all of my zim notes and put them in one of my vimwilkis, but it doesn't seem possible without copying and pasting them one by one into vimwiki. That is just not going to happen as I have like 1000 different .txt files with notes, outlines and whatever in my zim folder.
I've been searching, but honestly so far I've come up with nothing. The way vimwiki stores files is in .wiki files, which is fine, but each page doesn't actually have it's own file, or at least it doesn't always. So just renaming zim's .txt files and moving them into my wiki folder doesn't work. That was the simplest solution, so I'm disappointed that it didn't work.
I guess I'll have to ask around. Surely someone has had to transfer plain text notes into vimwiki before.
Not much of a blog post, I'm afraid, but at least it was something.
I know I've been promising for a while, but I will have more early access to videos this week, at least two. My goal remains three early access vids a week, even if I've not been good at reaching that goal.
