Quite with you on the proprietary software debate. We need those pieces of software on linux, so the wheel can turn and proprietary becomes the "exception" and FOSS the default. I mean I have no problem with using Steam or discord for my gaming or Spotify for my music... As a community we should focus on the "dangerous" side of the proprietary software like Chrome and the like. And FOSS still has some way to go to rival proprietary in certain area, I wouldn't use MSOffice if I could, but I still think it would be a wonderful thing for Linux for Microsoft to port it to Linux.
