2025-01-09 05:42:38 +0000 UTCSpecies was a missed opportunity of colossal proportions. It had the potential to be the definitive sci-fi classic of the '90s. The creative force behind the movie had a good vision, but the writing left almost everything to be desired, the tragedy of the Sil character, as well as the culpability of the scientists who created her, is kind of glossed over, and it sort of devolves into a sexploitation film with a horror/sci-fi backdrop.
