Kinktober '22 #25: Mutual Gaining

Her family was getting concerned. Soria had always been a little on the chubby side. Her family had bullied her about it constantly when she was growing up, pressuring her into diets and making sure to point out when she was getting softer so she could “put in more effort” and try harder to stay slim. Her weight was always in flux; she’d lose ten pounds, then gain seven back when she loosened up, lose five when she tried a new diet, and then put on eight during holiday binges.

Her weight stabilized for the first time in college, though her family was none too happy about it considering her new resting weight was the biggest she’d ever been. Even so, she wasn’t particularly large, her body somewhere on the heavier end of “chubby” and not quite fat.

Her senior year, she met her future husband, Victor. Her family thought he was perfect. They liked his ambition and his independence, and that he seemed like the sort of person who might whip Soria into shape. He was athletic, with a chiseled physique only carved out with hours at the gym. Honestly, they wondered why someone like him would even be interested in Soria at all, but they were hopeful he might set a good example for her.

Little did they realize that Victor’s family (who he no longer even bothered to speak to) had treated him much the same way. He’d been a chubby kid with a genuine love of food, once. As an adult, he had done everything he could to hide that fact, never straying from a strict diet and severe exercise regime. Meeting Soria started to chip away at all that.

Victor admired Soria’s ease around food. He liked that she wasn’t afraid to eat and enjoy herself. It had taken a few years for Soria to get there, unraveling the shame she’d been taught, enjoying herself at first out of spite, and then relaxing into it. It took a little time for Victor to follow suit. He was nervous, and afraid of the consequences to his waistline.

“Do you think this is ugly?” Soria had asked him one night as his hands sat at the pudgy curve of her waist, thumbs sinking into her soft belly.

“No,” he’d answered honestly. “But it’s different on you.”

“I promise it’s not. I think you’d look cute with a little pudge,” she’d said, hands running over his abs and imagining the extra squish.

“But what if it’s not just a little pudge? What if it’s a lot of pudge?”

“What, are you worried you’ll get as chubby as me?” she giggled. “I don’t think that’s gonna happen. Even if it did, so what? You’d still be Victor. You’ll still be handsome.”

It took a lot of conversations like that, but slowly, he relaxed. Instead of always having to eat separate meals and worry about calories and macros, they could sit and eat together. And it could be anything! Both of them had spent so long seeing food as the enemy that they each had a thousand things they wanted to try. They cooked together and tried new restaurants, tried new foods, and every bite felt a little like healing.

Victor did start to put on weight, but slowly, and not in a way that Soria’s family really noticed. When the couple visited for the holidays, they were much more focused on Soria looking pudgier than they remembered and encouraging Victor to take her to the gym with him. He chose not to tell them that he was going to the gym much less frequently, and all his pants were starting to get tight around the waistband, instead bypassing the entire conversation and talking about his work, Soria’s recent promotion, and how they were looking at apartments together.

Moving in together accelerated both their gains. Soria was always baking or trying a new recipe as a way to make their new place feel like home. Victor insisted they had to find all the best places to eat in their neighborhood. He never did find a new gym, and a few months later he was, for the first time in years, starting to look like someone who didn’t spend much time working out. He had a little bit of a belly, and his chest was getting less muscular and more soft.

Soria liked every bit of this. She was gaining weight, too, but she’d made peace with it. She was happy and healthy and eating well, so in the end, was it so much of an inconvenience to have to buy some new clothes? In fact, she kind of liked it. Victor loved to buy her pretty lingerie, and something about how the boning of the bras dug into her soft upper belly, which only made her lower belly look wider was delicious to her. She liked that no matter how she posed, she looked like a well-fed goddess.

Seeing Victor just beginning to look plump, with a subtle outward curve of his belly that got more grabbable by the day, and knowing it was entirely due to her influence and encouragement made her feel powerful. She hadn’t really intended for him to get fat, but seeing the buttons on his shirts straining after he stuffed himself full of her cooking, or noticing how much he jiggled when she rode him, absolutely got her off.

By the time he popped the question, they’d both gotten hefty. Soria’s family couldn’t believe it. Soria was impossibly huge to them (and, in reality, was somewhere in the neighborhood of 400 pounds), every part of her cushioned and rounded. She had round, chubby cheeks, a prominent double chin, and stunningly round belly as the defining feature of her physique. But her family had always sort of expected she’d eat herself into a blimp.

Victor, though? Lord, once upon a time they’d been able to see abs on him, and muscle definition all over. Now he looked like he’d never been skinny. He was a bit slimmer than Soria (if someone so fat could ever be called “slim”), but had an equally imposing gut, topped by a set of squishy moobs.

It almost felt like an insult to her family that they both looked so fat on their wedding day. Even worse, they ate with complete abandon. As if you were supposed to stuff your face at your own wedding! By the time it was all over, one of her aunts was certain Soria had managed to rip the seams on the ridiculous, belly- and roll-hugging dress she’d squeezed herself into.

For their part, the newlyweds were happy.
