Weekly Webinar #93: A Theory of Depression

One thing that's wrong about what you said about "if not for industrial society you'd be looking at the ass end of a horse" is the fact that if not for industrial society most of us would be dead, since there would not be enough productivity (including agricultural productivity) to sustain populations at the current level. So most of us wouldn't even exist. Even those of us who come from farm families (my family on both sides were dairy farmers), since practically everyone comes from an agricultural background really (which you noted in the video).

Very funny you talked about having goals right after. Well since I'm a child I always wanted to get into Wall Street or be a great leader (as a kid in class people always looked up to me to lead), so it's a very organic activity to me. Since when everytime in class they pointed to me to lead (I'm not kidding). Kinda like the Jon Snow effect, which is because he was a noble bastard people took him as a leader. I always was a bastard to certain kind of teachers and not afraid to speak up. It's more of a realisation how hated I will be when I'm becoming a leader and how corrupt the world is in which I want to lead. I find excuses to not pursue that goal. My bad for the shitty writing hope I get the point across haven't had sleep in a while lol.

After watching or during more like. I disagree with the fact that I need to feel needed. I really don't. Sure helping people is fun and sharing is caring jajaja, but a sole need to feel like a 'key' to society? Nope, not me. I'm 22 still living with my parents on a pretty chill spot. A small village with like 400 people (in Holland) so thats pretty sweet. I moved when I was 15 and hated the time here, until the pandemic. It's the perfect spot to bide my time invest have no cost and actually save money. I'm not needed nor do I care to forfill a need. Maybe I'm subconsciously doing. But flunking out of college 3 times with no proper goals doesn't sound like a needed person. Nor do I care once the shitstorm hits I'm in a good secluded spot to grow financially. Since that's my number one goal getting a 100K and feeling secure.

GUYS PLEASE the J&J vaccine IS NOT a classical vaccine! Moreover its reported side effects are not looking good in the VAERS database. Right from cdc.gov: COVID-19 viral vector vaccines are given in the upper arm muscle. The COVID-19 vector virus is not the virus that causes COVID-19, but a different, harmless virus. It enters the muscle cells and uses the cells’ machinery to produce a harmless piece of what is called a spike protein. The spike protein is found on the surface of the virus that causes COVID-19. USES THE CELLS' MACHINERY TO PRODUCE SPIKE PROTEIN -- That's what we call mRNA! The Russian Sputnik V is also of this kind!

I think industrial society, has become very detached from nature, to point were in many way's we have never been a sicker society, cancer ,heart disease and diabetes were unheard of in old traditional societies and I do have to beg to differ on alot of these societies we're just staring at oxens backsides, these societies I think depending on your role and the civilisation you we're part of, we're more sophisticated, physically healthier and more spiritual adept than we'll ever be. I reckon planes and motor vehicles or internal combustion engine are my book's the pinical of modern industrial civilisation, but have they been worth it's pitfalls is a argument that will go on time in memoriam

Very interesting perspective or take coach ,on what I reckon ties in with, societys fragmented make up or unhealthy individualistic culture that causes that detachment from a greater cause . A good way to cure these unhealthy dynamics in greater society is by pointing it out or highlighting it ,which you manage to in a constructive and nuisance fashion, enjoyed it 👍

An insightful set of observations. I really enjoy these long-form essays. You are clearly giving the “big picture” issues of our time a lot of thought, and I appreciate your fresh perspective.

@CRP great seminar. Could you do a seminar on how to lead and Manage men and Women.

I disagree with Peterson—there are men high up the status hierarchy who are incredibly depressed. His theory does not account for those men—mine does. Also, men who are low status are often very happy and fulfilled, because they have Reciprocal Dependence with their social environment. I think Peterson is projecting his own issues. CRP

I like the Jordan Peterson theory: depression from low in dominance hierarchy. That is: our brains are wired around to understand our position in this hierarchy - when low status, men especially feel depressed. This doesn’t explain why, say, famous people commit suicide - so I like combo of what Coach and Peterson say. Maybe point #3 (not needed) is a different spin on dominance hierarchy.

Guessing the impact on me and on male in general, about workplace with female boss + 80% women... at min 32 .. is clear why i feel so weird in this period ... no clear role at work.. no sense of meaning like before, when i covered a more specific one.. thanks coach ... as usual 🙏🏽💪🏼

Dont feel bad. I plan to have all my teeth replaced in the next few months for about three thousand dollars in Turkey. Good Luck!

Before watching thoughts. I think depression stems mostly of the fact the world is too boring. From a toddler you have to go to school then another school then another school then a menial job etc etc. Yeah you can get rich and that’s the best time for it to be right now. But the survival aspect has been ridddn of society. So instead of doing something purely to survive. We now to things to distract ourselves. Like 1800 you had some progression but life was still hard and you couldn’t think about all the bullshit we do now. You had to go on that horse and drive for a day hopefully no getting killed. seems more fun to me!

Goddammit I missed it again. My promise of joining next week is as empty of that from Biden who would relieve student loan. But next time I’ll be there live hopefully.

1:26:06, I'd even go so far as saying that back then, the men in the community — the hunters would knowledge share, by teaching each other techniques or tactics on how to be more efficient during a hunt.

I'm down for that webinar you spoke of in the end

How is possible to make questions at the end of the seminar? Thanks in advance!
