April Update, Discord Live RP Opportunity, & More!

Happy April everyone!

Your in-house writer lady Kate is currently on a vacation but will be returning and getting right back into the usual swing of things soon enough. Just a note that if you're looking to contact me I'll be around again come April 25th. Until then, I will try to get to any questions or messages but there might be a delay. ^^

Coming in May is something a little different from me. Taking place on a still to be created channel on my Patreon's Discord, me and a guest are going to go through a roleplay session live for everyone to see! During the session itself comments from anyone else will be locked but reactions are encouraged!Commenting will also open up once the roleplay has finished for open discussion afterwards. While I don't have an exact date it will fall on a Saturday and Sunday with two 4-5 hour sessions taking place (roughly) 1 - 5/6 PM EST. More precise details on dates and content will come when we're closer but for anyone interested in seeing how a Kate roleplay unfolds or how even my creative process works in real time it might be a treat! Even if you can't make the live times the logs will remain visible in those channels if you want to have a peek. One final note will be that no RP appearing in the channel is canon to any story the characters are pulled from. It's just a bit of fun. ^^

There will be another story + audio recording coming in the coming months as well for those that enjoyed my first attempt. Be sure to keep an eye out for when that's posted. ^^ 

One last note before getting to the poll portion, I will be having another break in content coming up in early June. To be brief and not get into too many personal details, I'll be having a quick outpatient procedure on June 8th. There is about a week of recovery with me being fully set after 30 days baring complications. Shouldn't keep my away from writing for too long though but a brief gap in content mine come up and I wanted to give fair warning. ^^

Last month's poll winning story 'an idea where a wife's wish is her husband's curse.' I have some fun elements in mind for that so I'll get to work on it once I'm back home! In the meantime I've got another poll having to do with starting a new Kate series.

With a lot of my series, the aspects that carry over are usually who or whatever is doing the changes. Be it the shopkeeper and 'So You Want To Be A...?' or Desirae's 'Try Not To Be A..." stories. Characters and settings repeat which has proven a wonderful jumping off point for ideas. But now I want to try something different. This time the winner will be a character (or characters) from a list below who will show up in future stories with different scenarios and changes for them to tackle each time. Whoever wins the poll will get their debut story shortly afterwards. ^^

The choices are:

- The Trials of Talia and Mika - Two friends with a shared interest in TF. They've come into possession of an spell book that could let them live out their fantasies but it's going to take some trial and error to figure things out. We follow them trying different spells and variations with good and bad results. Talia is smart, shy, bookworm with a daring side. Mika is more upfront, friendly, caring, and trusting.

- Blessed Curses - Follows a man cursed by a witch. Any time this man finds himself making eye contact with any animal his body starts shifting into the person mate of said animal. Once it starts the transformation  will only change back if he mates with said animal. If he's lucky they're female but if they're male, he might be spending a long pregnancy full of regret. Having lost a lot of time so far to this curse in his life, the man has grown very good at avoiding animals. But either fate or some mysterious actor is making is trying to trigger the man's changes as often as possible, leading to series involving lots of different changes along with a bit of a mystery. Man is cautious, nervous, careful, but prone to overthinking.

- Ideal Candidates - Two desperate for cash college kids find out they're perfect for a new campus study. A study they come to find out involves using different triggers to transform the two into animals and more. They're told it's for science and paid well so they do their best to tackle whatever weird tests get thrown at them and don't ask too many questions.

- Familiar Fixers Inc - A trio that works a little outside the law to help people in need who escaped justice. Led by a surly old witchy woman Grella, they use transformations to do anything from rescues, breakouts, assassinations, or evidence gathering and planting. To carry out the actual missions she has Becka, a witch in training, and the witches long suffering familiar Orville to change into whatever is needed for the job. Their unique personalities and approach makes them a highly sought after, if mysterious and dysfunctional group of vigilantes.
