November Preview + Roadmap

In November the sound of rustling leaves will strike fear into the armies of Tyria as the Wood Elves make their debut. The Mainstay units of the Defenders and Scouts form the combat line while they get aid from the forest itself in the form of Giant Owls. For the Human Defense Force the Psy-Hacker takes control of magic abilities by force while the GRUNT Robots take on missions to risky for living combatants.

November New Release

In November the red and yellow leaves of Fall trees make home for the Wood Elves. The Glade Leader is a protector of the Heartwood, leading his defenders against the enemies of the forest with great tactical knowledge of the woods. The Spell Weaver channels the magical energy of nature to support the warrior of the forest and uses the forest itself to attack and hinder enemies of the Heartwood. The Defenders are the first line of defense against the forces that threaten the trees and beasts of their homeland, always ready to mobilize to get between the enemy and those they protect. The Scouts are always on patrol, silently and carefully watching the edges of their forests for enemies. Experts at navigating the woods and remaining unseen, their arrows can take care of threats before they become a problem. The Giant Owls are swift and deadly hunters, flying high, they can pick out their prey and descend upon them with razor claws that are impossible to escape. Connected to the Spirit of the Heartwood, they will always help the Wood Elves in their times of need.

The Human Defense Force's November campaign starts with the Drill Sergeant getting the troops in line. An army that fights in anger can achieve great things and the Drill Sergeant is a master at riling up his unit to impossible feats in combat. Psy-Hackers use technology to break into the forces of destruction so easily manipulated by psychics of other factions. They use this data to create real world anomalies or to enhance units with advanced tactical maneuvers. Sappers are special weapon experts that employ an array of heavier weapons to devastating effect. With their advanced training they're able to assume a variety of battlefield roles based on their loadout. The GRUNTs are robotic soldiers designed for war. Expensive to build and maintain, they are designed to be heavily armored and effective at special tasks and missions that human infantry wouldn't be able to endure.

In November the Ratmen find another suitable companion for their growth serum as the Giant Otter makes it's way to the army front. Paired with a Ratmen Priest the Giant Otter serves as a faithful companion, getting the priest to where he needs to be in the heart of battle.

For Age of Fantasy: Quest the Human Monk uses his body as a weapon, forgoing traditional fighting hardware for only his fists and his faith. A master of the martial arts he controls a combat with his lightning fast reflexes and delivers a flurry of blows to the enemy.

In November the Urban Terrain stacks up with the Platforms Terrain. This form of terrain adds height to the battle field, creating great posts for snipers and marksmen to draw their aim from as well as provide cover while sticking to the low ground beneath the network of platforms.

For our 2D releases, you'll see the Saurian Starhost - Set #5 and a Paper Terrain set for them. The 2D models are a great way to prepare armies for games quickly!

You'll also get 8 Short Stories with Missions, 4 Game Missions, and early access to the Heart of the Rot campaign for Age of Fantasy: Quest!

Project Roadmap

In December as the snow starts to fall, the trees will rise in aid of the Wood Elves. The Treeman Elders are weary warriors who've long been defending the Heartwood. The Elders use their knowledge of the forest to deftly bring the fight to the enemies of the woods, while the Elder Wraith uses the magic of the forest to awaken the canopy with spells. The Treemen channel their anger at trespassers into their combat, lashing out at the forests enemies with a flurry of attacks from their weapon like branches. The Treemen Brutes are larger and tougher versions of the Treemen with the strength to match, able to include rocks in their branches they can take care of heavy armor where other Treemen might have an issue. The Tree Giant is a mighty oak of destruction, it's roots able to whip enemies from afar, it's branch weapons massive and terrifying, and it's command of forest magic make it a tree there's no hiding behind... or from!

Also in December the Human Defense Force get some reinforcements. The Commander is up to date with all the tactical data from HQ, helping to position his troopers around the battle zone exactly where they need to be. The Veterans are experienced warriors who've survived the perils of active combat with wits and skill. Given access to the advanced weapon lockers they can outfit themselves to any and all battlefield roles. The OGRE Robots are a larger version of the GRUNTs. Their Increased size making for a stronger frame that can deploy heavier weapons at ranged but also be effective at up close maneuvers by carrying a large combat shield and dispersing crowds with heavy batons. The Attack Vehicle is a street level tank used for crowd control, it's arsenal of acid canons and flamers make it great for clearing out enemy encampments but it can also be upgraded to armor breeching weapons to take down fortifications or fortified enemy machines. The Support Vehicle is a modified Attack Vehicle retrofitted to provide artillery support. If it shoots hard and shoots far, this sturdy platform is how it gets into position to start it's bombardment and it's heavy armor makes removing it nigh impossible once entrenched.

December is also when the Dwarf Guilds break out one of their super efficient machines, the Mining Titan. Built to be dual purpose, this mech does it's name sake and makes quick work of drilling out ore. But that same drill and precision can also be used to hollow out enemy tanks and fortifications. When it comes to Mining and War, the Dwarf Guilds are always prepared for both.

Here is the roadmap for the next few months:

That's it for now, happy wargaming!

Comments

They were delayed, as they are made available they should be added to your library.

onepagerules

They are available now.

onepagerules

The HDF Grunt Robots are great .. well all the HDF are great. Just a query. According the info there should be HDF sappers also but I'm not seeing them in my MMF library. Missing some Wood Elves also. Thanks Z

Zrune lord

I couldn't find Human Defense Force - Sappers x21 in the library :/

How can I get the 50% discount code for MyMiniFactory? I'm an existing Patreon member to One Page Rules.

Kris Sebesta

the launcher two hydraulic rams on the front to lift it into firing position. when its lowered there's enough clearance for the Turret to rotate over the top

Toasty

I love these wood elves! Cannot wait to print them out they look gorgeous

Stuart Murray

It looks like the tank barrel would impact the missile launcher while traversing right. Is this intentional? The "anti-infantry" weapon mounted on the track armor is very strange. It seems like there is no space for ammo storage and must be remotely operated. Unless the tracks are routed very low and go below the internal working of the side mounted "microwavers" that appear to be fixed forward parallel with the running gear giving them a very limited field of fire. But it appears that extra armor for the treads is a priority for this beast. The storage spaces(?) on the sides look like they couldn't be very deep without occupying the same space as the tracks. Maybe extra rifle cells, mags, grenades, and gas mask filters can be stored within, but I don't know what else would fit. The step up design of the body appears to do nothing for the tank except increase its silhouette making it more vulnerable. Looking at the rest of the model line (so far) for HDF I sees curves in a more ergonomic functional design style (even in the pictured GRUNTS) but the tank appears to have rivets or bolts holding hard geometric angles and planes together. It appears to mismatch the rest of the HDF design paradigm. I'm not out to bash the tank. It just doesn't make much sense to me especially in the context of the stylistic design of the rest of the force. The HDF looks futuristic, ergonomic, and functional.. CyberMil? But the tank looks like different vehicles front, middle, and rear were bolted together. After that a proper turret was added and had "futuristic armor" riveted over everything. It appears like the side weapons, anti-infantry weapon, and missile launcher were just added on without design functionality. Rivets and Bolts on futuristic tech just sets me off. Stylistic details that showcase the faction background or the advanced technology?.. Nah! Just throw a hundred f'in Bolts on it.. : [_ Sorry for the rant.

Genitacles

Ah! nvm. I see them in the other post! I just was wondering, and am answered now. Thank you!

Darkstar Art

It reads like a pony tail stuck through a hole in the hood and secured with twine.

Rigger Mortis FPV

Oh, I can't see any female HDF members? In which pic are they?

Darkstar Art

Doubling down on that ridiculous tank design ? And that Owl.....omg.....was its mother or father a Canary ? Im out.

Rigger Mortis FPV

As far has i have seen there are female versions of all the miniatures included.

Sebastian Dubke

There’s an awkwardness with the face of the owl too.

Branden Doty

I love the look of the HDF, so tactical and fun! And chance we can get some female HDF people as well mixed in?

Darkstar Art

Your original sculpts had them. Could you include them as an option?

Christopher Guzy

They are sculpted without actual strings to make them easier to print and play with.

onepagerules

It is a decorative tassel attached to the back of the hood.

onepagerules

Yes it does!

onepagerules

This upcoming release is the one I have anticipated the most. I can't wait.

Aaron Thurston

At the back the braid at the top of the hood

Maik Kopperschmidt

Not seeing what your issue is...Makes sense to have a braid going along your neck out the front. If you are saying it is protruding out of the hood on the left side, I think you are seeing the shoulder armor.

Nathan Gerardy

Braid coming through the hood? What were you thinking with the design?

Maik Kopperschmidt

They seem to be added on top, removing them should be a simple click in Blender. Keep in mind this will make the model less interesting ones it's painted up, because flat surfaces are not all that interesting. That's why most scifi models have them, even though it makes little sense :)

Samuel Karpowski

For someone who inspires the troops to "fight in anger," the drill sergeant doesn't look very angry...

Kyle Bentley

Howdy all! I absolutely adore the HDF models, but why do none of them appear to be sculpted actually using the vertical foregrip on their rifles?

IAmTheWolverine2

Does that owl have its own owl buddy?

Evilstans

Why did you take away the bowstrings?!? It is what separates printing from store bought. Please replace the nock with actual fletching.

Christopher Guzy

I think maybe the top "brim" of the robot heads could use a couple "lidar/light studs" or something? to give it a reason to be sticking out like that at least. the idea that theres a sensor suite on top could be pretty cool. but at the same time, I think the sensor suite effect could also be had by making the whole faceplate a sensor suite

Jeremy Allan

1. Id love to see this changed, it seems like a simple thing to accomodate for that extra immersion! 2. I agree with you that this pose is a bit of a let down, like the concept art back in September was gorgeous, and now they're just holding a hand out? maybe that design is going to get used for another model, but I agree on the idea that it seems pretty "subdued" so far and I think I've read quite a few other people saying the same thing 3. I agree, I feel like if this model so far is anything, its of a drill sergeant NOT on the battle field. Like why represent it so calm?

Jeremy Allan

The owls are too chonkey and their pectoral muscles aren’t connected to their wings which are the same flatness all over. I do like the wood elf archers

Jeffrey Ernst

It will have all the same turret options, front gun options and additional upgrades.

onepagerules

All these rivets on the tank seem way too prominent. You had such a clean sci-fi design going for HDF. The rivets on the tank do not really fit that aesthetics. 😢

Lukas Eisenring

Love the EW kits on the soldiers. Also, the monk looks a bit familiar... :)

Zachary Petriw

How would the tank turret rotate with the missile launcher in that position?

The Dour Kin

Wood Elves will be great, but Woof Elves (werewolf elves) would be even better. Any chance of having a special unit of werewolf elves as part of this army?

John Fuhrman

As the recipient of many points of instruction from multiple drill instructors during my time in the military, I can offer a few points on the current drill instructor model. 1. The thumb should run parallel to the other fingers of the knife hand, not tucked away like it currently is. 2. The pose doesn't convey the same malice and threat of violence that a drill sergeant using a knife hand typically uses. Maybe tilt the upper torso a bit so the shoulder is more parallel to the knife hand. 3. The expression could use some work as well. The drill sergeants look like they're pointing in the direction of the nearest fast food place on base, not directing trailed killers in combat. I know these are still just WIP shots, but even so, the models are about 85% of the way there already. A few tweaks and they'll be ready for prime time.

Michael Johnson

Will the tanks have the same turret options as the current HDF list?

Doodle Depot

I'm so excited for these elves! Also that codpiece had me laughing. Like the goblin king joined the HDF

Xalia

I have just bought some forge father tanks, so i am thinking oops with the hdf tanks. But the December release has me excited now

Stuart Morris

Everything is excellent but that tank track which still looks weird from the last release

The Architecture AI

We have watched you from your first step into our realm to this meeting. We have witnessed your atrocious actions against our trees and animals. With axes you cut down our homes, with bows you hunted our friends. And now, now you roast our friends over fires made from our homes. We see but one punishment fit for you, "adventurer." The ancient law states trespassers shall have one bone broken for every twig snapped underfoot. For you...the woods will echo with your apologies. Let's begin.

Russell Byerley

GIANT OTTER! Woo!

Josh Kaplonski

If its not too much trouble would we be able to get the guns as a separate part on the modular HDF options? Otherwise absolutely loving these releases, so excited for robots!

Julie

Looking forward to those “Woof” Elves! Will be quite the unique faction! 🤣

Gabriel

Mining Titan gonna be OP

Justin Marlowe

No idea how many will get this reference. The owls are not what they seem.
