PS - I am playing an acoustic guitar

HI Scott - I have completed CAGED basics and, among other things, am working on developing proficiency with the 5 basic chords shapes as moveable shapes on the fretboard. I find that the C shape, A shape and E shape (as moveable bar chords) are coming along nicely. However the full G and the D shaped bar chords are proving much tougher….hard on the hands! Should I just use partial forms for these shapes, or stick with it until I develop the required technique?

Hi Scott, I can't find a link for OH105 on the community forum, so posting here... When a chord has R, 3 , 5 & 7, we refer to it as a 7 chord. However, if it has R, 3, 5 and 9, it seems to be referred to as an add 9 chord. Have I got this right? Why the difference? Thanks.
