February Painting Contest

Note: Due to logistical problems, there won't be any resin prizes for painting contest in the foreseeable future. We are looking into alternative ways to deliver special prizes to you, and will keep you informed. Happy painting!

**********

Contest Categories: The contest is split up into 3 categories, each with its own submission criteria, and each contestant may pick only one category:

Rules: To participate, pick one category, and share a high resolution picture in square format via the Dropbox link below (leave a margin on the sides for re-sizing). Only one picture may be submitted, and you must use your Patreon username as the file name, or the submission will be discarded!

Submissions: https://www.dropbox.com/request/vrcne8e4ABq2lN8Onf0S

Deadline: February 25th

Not Allowed: Welcome Pack Minis, Loyalty Rewards, Terrain, Game Aids

The miniatures should be painted by you, no re-sizing over 5% is allowed, and only minor modifications are acceptable. By entering the contest you give OPR permission to share the pictures on our website and social media.

Prize: The community will vote for the best submissions, and the top 3 of each category will get a special 75% store discount. As a bonus, one other random participant from each category will also get the special store discount!

Happy Painting!

February Painting Contest

Comments

Sigh - I have just realized the deadline is Feb 25 - tomorrow - and I'm only halfway painting. :(

Andrew Parsons

1) We don't have a timeframe to announce. 2) That should be fine.

Two questions: 1) Do you have an ETA on the Sister Novice Leader? That's one of the models I'm considering for the competition this month. 2) If we kitbash one of the warrior banners onto the novice banner bearer, would that be a valid entry for this month or is it too big of a change?

Daniel Hanson

wood elves...

sully

I would like to see Sylvanuth, the tree folk. there is no OPR codex for them but it might get my GF to play because she collects and paints them. Well, the big ones she can decorate heavily and make em pretty.

Gregory Lewis

Im guessing its the Starhost dread scorcher. the lizardmen tank.

Gregory Lewis

The legendary model is the SSH - Dread Scorcher. Its the cover image on the post right below this one.

Shadow King

Where can I find what the "Legendary" model is?

W S

Winner gets an extra juicy vote on the next army to be considered for release?

Adilos Cantürk

Winner gets to request a model for next months release

JorgeAgoias

so ready for this one

Quinton R.

That's a nice price I think!

raharth

Dang I finally can compete and no resin rewards for winning? Dangit

Amazing February Painting Contest and the prize is amazing - 75% discount is great. Good luck to everyone participating in the February Painting Contest

YourMagnet_adult_version

I freaking LOVE THE IDEA of a credit towards the files for a previous model.

Eric

Other prizes I've seen for painting contests have been refunded subscriptions or access to model(s) from a previous month's release, if you're looking for ideas :)

Andrew Boggs

Yes - they are sculpted together. Similar to how a weapon crew counts as a solo entry if you're painting one of the siege weapons.

onepagerules

Does a Ratmen Sniper model count as a solo given there are two ratmen in it?

Andrew Parsons

being a member for a while and having nearly everything i would want from the OPR MMF store, i was always mainly interested in the resin. I can see that there are problems for shipping to Europe and such, and the atlas3d resin is almost as rare as hens teeth in europe (and it's awesome resin) I can honestly not think of something to replace it that would be benefitial to you and a good incentive to us. Although i love the painting contest, it's great fun and aspires to improve, a prize is always fun to get. I don't mind paying for the shipping myself, it's still cheaper than buying good resin.

SskarthVader

The resin shipped from the US that would get custom fees to pay was not a very enticing price if you live in Europe. Vouchers or discount codes are the best way to go imho

Hellvlad

How about you ask for volunteers from the community that can print locally (to the prize winner) and either get a discount on the shop/a free month or a specified number of model files of their choice?

Andy Betony

It's usually 50% off, but due to OPR reaching a Subscription milestone, they're doing 70% this February.

OPR has growth goals. If they meet it, they reward the community (teir 2 patrons) a 70% discount. They normally meet this goal.

I think a MMF vouchers would be a great idea, or a voucher to a reputable website to buy resin from. I totally get that mailing resin to each winner every month much be a logistical nightmare, but it was a cool reward!

Joel

I'm pretty sure it's only for the month of February due to a subscription goal that was reached. So next month it will be back to 50%

Joel

i didnt even realize we get 70% off a month... always thought it was like 50% off

pretty sad that the painting context is only a 5% discount on the store (since you usually get 70% already)

Jhonatan da Silva

Vouchers sound a good plan?
